Kya mara Camera!

Photo SHOOT!
It is with deep regret that I hereby announce that I have damaged my own camera – and it will cost $240 to repair it!
In an attempt to clean it, I ended up leaving lots of microfiber inside the image chamber, and thanks to static electricity, they wouldn’t come off. Then I decided to go brute on it, and ended up scratching one of the screens and it all went downhill from there. 🙁
Anyway, I recalled my camera without having it repaired and I have decided to try to fix all of it myself. I hope I do something good at the end of it…
Here are a few pics I had taken during a trip to rural West Bengal… there are many more photos taken, but I will be putting them up on a separate post.

Ohh! Thats a bad news. But 240 dollars is really expensive. Do you think its a good idea to repair it yourself? I hope you don’t damage it more (no offence meant).

    nicely captured.
especially the one with the bus and the one with the “nouko”.

@SagittalSection: No offense taken. 🙂 I will try to fix it – I trust myself when it comes to fixing things – however, if I break it further, time for a new camera. 🙂

@Debbie: Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you! 🙂

  4. Sad ! hope u got it fixed by now.
btw, which camera do you use?

I also like photography, have a look at my photos here

Actually, it did get fixed… then it shattered in a freak accident a few days later. I was supremely upset. I used to own a Canon Digital Rebel XT with 18-55mm and 55-200mm.
I saved up and recently bought a Nikon D90 with 18-105mm VR and a 50mm f/1.8. If I don’t break this one, I will be putting up photos with that very soon! 🙂
Loved your photos too! Especially the HDR ones in Malaysia. Never done HDR myself, but I never knew you can do HDR on moving objects! Or was it all post processing? (Same photo – 3 exposures?) Bookmarked your site. 🙂

  6. Thanks 🙂
Those HDR photos were post processed from a single RAW file. Some even from a single JPEG file!
There is a very sweet technique for creating 3 different exposures from a single JPEG in photoshop. Give me your email id, and I will send in the tut. 🙂

btw, I was surprised about your move to nikon from canon !! Usually people stick with their brands !

    • Kokonad says:

Yeah, that’s what I guessed! I know how it is done, so I will spare you the trouble of sending the tut! 🙂
About the migration to Nikon from Canon, I would have stuck with Canon, but I got buyers for both my lenses, which were intact. Since I was starting afresh, i thought I should go a little pro – and Nikon won compared to Canon’s counterpart to the D90. 🙂
