Happiness lies within

I saw this gentleman contently playing his violin in Battery Park, New York in November 2008. From afar I could hear bits and pieces of the piece he was playing and it sounded real familiar. As I was exiting the park I walked across him and I realized that the piece he was playing was Jana Gana Mana, and more often than not he was playing with his eyes closed. He made it soulful. I don’t know what was the reason for my goosebumps – the emotion of pure content on his face, or the fact that he was playing the Indian national anthem. I felt patriotic.
